Set amid the olive and almond trees of this spectacular landscape, the Son Antem Resort and Spa is a haven of quality and relaxation for golf and leisure visitors alike. The location is close enough to Palma to be extremely convenient, but is also pleasantly tranquil.

The resort also has a kids club, an outdoor pool, sun terrace, hot tub, sauna and tennis, table tennis and volleyball courts.

The hotel has two restaurants; the elegant El Olivar is a formal dining room, while La Vista Verde is a more relaxed family-oriented eatery.

If you have worked up a thirst, head for the Lobby Bar or El Trenc, a lovely poolside setting for a drink.

The Piat D'Or is a dining room of high repute, whose refined Mediterranean cuisine has a distinct local accent, and has been awarded a Michelin star.

East Course
Son Antem East Course is a challenging par-72 layout, which stretches to a maximum of 6,571 yards if you feel brave enough to tackle the championship tee markers.

The course winds it sway through the landscape's natural woodland, traversing what was traditionally hunting ground. The great variety of holes creates demand for creativity and imagination, where sheer brawn is superseded by golfing guile and artistry.

West Course
The West Course at Son Antem is held in high repute by both the native islanders and their visitors. The 6,466-yard layout takes in the same landscape as the neighbouring East Course, and although it is slightly shorter, is probably a more exacting proposition.

Skirted by towering pine trees and groves of almond trees, the fairways are considerably tighter, so playing conservatively with an iron from the tee is often a prudent choice. Known for its pure putting surfaces, the West is a true joy to play, and is a certain highlight of any stay at the magnificent Son Antem resort.

Son Termens Golf
The course was designed by the Harris group in consultation with Jose Rodriguez, and is renowned throughout the island for its silky smooth putting surfaces. The par-71 layout is by no means the longest around, but there is a great variety of distinctive holes, that will demand that you use every club in the bag.

Golf Park Puntiró
With his playing days all but behind him, Jack is now focused on creating legendary golf courses, and his work at Golf Park Puntiró has certainly boosted Mallorca's golfing credibility. The brief for the Golden Bear was to build a course that would adapt totally to the existing landscape in a harmonious manner, and with that in mind the resultant holes weave their way in and out of the groves of pine, olive and carob trees.

The par-71 layout measures 6,591 yards from the championship tees, and, as such, is not the longest course by modern standards, but Nicklaus' design necessitates accurate striking and sound course management in order to score well.

The golf complex is further aided by the presence of a fantastic practice area which includes a 240-yard driving range with a range of covered and uncovered bays.

Golf Park Puntiró's signature hole is without doubt the ‘short' 16th, although there is little short about it; golfers must carry the ball over 200 yards of shimmering water to find the putting surface.

Son Vida Golf
The layout received a shot in the arm in 2001 when esteemed golf architect Kurt Roosknecht reworked the entire course, but the recent work has not detracted from the original F.W. Hawtree design, put in place in the early 1950s.

The course is certainly easy on the eye, as the fairways are bordered by many species of beautiful trees, including palm, pine and almond.

With fabulous mountain and sea views, Son Vida has it all, and is definitely a favourite of regular golf travellers to the island of Mallorca.
